If you have been following us via any of the social media networks or if you have been keeping in touch with us in any other way whatsoever – Thank you!
If you have been keeping in touch, you would know by now, some of our goals and what we want to achieve with this project.
Life is all about networking and the greatest impact one can make in another person’s life is to have a positive effect in that person’s life in whatever way possible. If it means making another person smile, helping them by just listening and being supportive through a problem or even sharing your lunch with a total stranger, well I’m sure you get the picture here, we need to do it!
As cheesy as it sounds, whether you like to believe it or not, we all have a higher purpose in this world we live in. Besides having different personal goals, we all should have one common goal!
And that common goal should be to help whoever we can help in our lives unconditionally. I know, I know, you probably thinking yeah….right, in the world we live in, in this day and age, most people rarely do this. Very true! Most people don’t!
But it’s high time we stop looking at what most people will or will not do and start thinking more about this world we live in, a world in which all of us can make a positive difference.
At Speedy Speed, we have been blessed to be afforded the opportunity to assist in this feeding program. While partaking in this activity as much as we feel so much joy that we can make a difference, we also feel so sad that in this so called “City of Gold” there is so much poverty. So many people never know where their next meal is coming from.
All of this got me thinking…I mean really thinking deeper about our accepted social norms. We need to fight against and win this battle against hunger.
Everyone reading this blog can and must do more to fight hunger. Wherever you are in your life right now, you can do more to help.
If you are a famous person or a celebrity, you have been blessed to be in your current situation. Many huge multi million rand companies will sponsor their products to you for marketing purposes. If you could find it in your heart, before just accepting these sponsorships, to negotiate with these huge companies to contribute the equal rand value of the sponsorship to the less fortunate. You should be brave enough to tell these huge companies that you will help market their brand on acceptance of this condition. It’s a win-win situation for everyone! Imagine the impact if every celebrity did this.
I know many of you are thinking, “fat chance of that happening because the entire world has been functioning for many, many years by pouring huge sponsorships to the rich and famous and that is just the way it is.”
Truth be told, we need more people to challenge the unfair social norms that has been practiced and supported. If this blog can make a difference to just one person’s mind-set and impact just that one person to move forward and take a step to make a difference, then this blog has definitely not been a waste of time.
Logic needs to prevail somewhere and we need to reassess all our actions. Poverty is a reality! However, it is a reality which we can change. The big question is; are we willing to do everything that needs to and can be done to fight poverty and hunger?
